Ruth Amanda is an Award Winning author, illustrator and artist who loves to create imaginative stories for children to enjoy.Her first book, "Geckos in the Garden" (2023, Friesen Press) was a 2023 Mom's Choice Awards® Gold Award recipient, and won the following awards as well: 2023 Purple Dragonfly Awards, 2023 Global eBook awards, First Place Picture Book 2023 CIBA Little Peeps Awards, and was a 2023 Book Excellence Finalist. A startling success for this new talent in children's literature. Some of her other titles, like "There's a Buzzard on the Balcony" (2023, Friesen Press) and "There's a Seagull on my Sailboat" (2023, Friesen Press) were winners in the 2023 Royal Dragonfly Awards as well. Her books continue to be nominated and shortlisted.She enjoys creating from the natural inspirations all around her and can often be found crawling under bushes or climbing up trees to get photos of an assortment of wildlife--usually geckos. She enjoys writing children's books and creating colouring pages for her readers. She has also created some adult colouring books for the grown ups to enjoy because the kids shouldn't have all the fun!Born in Canada, she has lived in many areas across the country including the far north in Nunavut.
