I spent the first 31 years of my life running from God, lost in an effort to be self-reliant. Born Jewish, proud atheist, egotistical and brazen, I plowed through life on a roller coaster of massive fails and massive successes. As a youth I struggled with addiction and self- mutilation and as a young adult I struggled with identity. I met and fell in love with Amber, my wife at 20 years old and we have 4 amazing children together (one who is at home with Jesus and three that are thriving at home with us). The oldest two, our twin boys, were born while I developed my career as a hairdresser. A wildly empty success, I fell deep into the cynical and depraved world of celebrity hairdressing and it cost me nearly everything: my marriage, my relationship with my kids, the career I had grown to feel stuck in, every dollar I’d earned and even my health. I was at the end of my rope, and that is when I encountered the person of Jesus Christ. My wife and I, still clinging desperately to our failing marriage, agreed to go to church as a last ditch effort to find a solution. We went to a church near our home, listened to one sermon, and that was all it took. The words spoke right to my soul, as if written just for me. Instantly I knew that I was on the wrong path, and I began the journey away from the life I was living under, and towards the life He called me into. I’m blessed to be able to say that a few short years after my life came to a crashing halt, my world is radically changed and now I get the opportunity to come alongside people and help them grow. My passion made a dynamic shift from glorifying myself to being edified by an unyielding effort to glorify God. The Apostle Paul declared “wretched man that I am” (Romans 7:24) and cried out in all things for the saving grace of God for himself and the people of God, and I do my absolute best to remain of that same mentality not just as a leader, but as a man. I have a deep love of writing and my books Blooming Where Planted, Prosperity/Gospel and the latest release Intentional Fatherhood can be purchase wherever books are sold. It’s not lost on me that God’s grace is the only reason anything in my life makes sense, from the smallest details of my day to the largest projects I have the opportunity to take on. I’m so fortunate to have the opportunity to serve Christ as the Lead Pastor of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont Michigan as of the summer of ‘23 so along with my family I moved there from Florida and endeavor to faithfully follow my calling in life to teach and preach the word of God to all who have ears to hear. I’m committed to the teachings of the Bible in all things, from parenting and marriage to discipleship and ministry and I look forward every day to seeing the myriad of ways that God’s grace pours out into an undeserving world.
