Margaret Comin was born fully sighted and was blinded by an accident when she was 2 1/2 years old. That pivotal incident shaped her life in a way that directly inspired her memoir, “In the Freedom of Space.” The blinding along with other traumatic events in her childhood provided many challenges. With the support of her mother and older brother, she turned tragedy into triumph. Driven by her love of education, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in English from Florida State University, a Master’s of Education, and a Master’s of Science, both from Georgia State University and a Master’s of Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University.
