Dr. Scott Pickle was born and raised in Atwater, California. He attended Atwater public schools and graduated from Atwater High School. While growing up, his parents kept him active in several extracurricular activities and working on the family Almond ranch. After graduating from high school, he attended California State University, Fresno, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in physical education with an emphasis on exercise physiology while competing on the Track and Field team. Next, he attended National University, Fresno Campus, to earn his Single Subject Teaching Credential, and then cleared his credential at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). Continuing his education, he earned a Master’s degree and Administrative Services Credential from National University. Finally, he earned his Doctorate of Education with an emphasis on K12 Leadership from Grand Canyon University.He began his public education career as a teacher in Middle School before moving to High School, where he taught Science, served as the Science Department Chair, and was Head Coach of the Cross Country and Track and Field programs. His administrative path began as High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director. Next, he moved to a lead Assistant Principal role before being hired as Principal of a Valley school where he remained for almost 10 years. He served as high school principal again in a local school district before being promoted to Director of Human Resources. After serving in that capacity, he accepted the position of Superintendent of an elementary district in the Central Valley of California. Dr. Pickle has been honored with several accolades. He has twice been awarded the Paramount Agribusiness Teacher of the Year, first in 2003 and again in 2006. In 2004, he was awarded the California State Assembly Teacher of the Year for District 31 and the County Board of Supervisors, Teacher of the Year, Certificate of Recognition award. Additionally, in 2003 he was honored by the University of California as an Outstanding Teacher. As an administrator in 2014, he was recognized by the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) as an outstanding administrator and won the Administrator of the Year (California FFA Section Star award). Also, in 2014, he was recognized by the US House of Representatives Certificate of Achievement as FFA Star Administrator. Then in 2016, Dr. Pickle received a California Assembly Recognition Award for promoting quality extra-curricular programs. In 2020, he was nominated as an administrator of the year and then, having moved Districts, in 2023 that same nomination was repeated in his new district. Believing in the impact one person can have on education, Dr. Pickle founded Impact One. The company is driven by a profound belief in the transformative power of individual learning. He recognizes and celebrates the incredible impact that each person can have on their own educational journey and the world around them. The mission is “to empower and inspire individuals to realize their full potential by providing innovative, accessible, and personalized learning experiences”. As Dr. Pickle states, “Our mission is not just about imparting knowledge, it's about igniting a passion for learning that transcends boundaries and empowers individuals to make a meaningful impact on the world.” While spreading his message, he has attended the National Conference on Education which is presented by the American Association of School Administrators or AASA as a guest professional of Acellus, a leading learning acceleration curriculum. Additionally, Dr. Pickle has served as a keynote speaker at celebrations, conferences, and his most honored invite, the 247th MCJROTC Marine Corps Ball. Dr. Pickle’s recent work is a book titled “Impact Mentoring: 200 Ways to Make an Impact as a Mentor and Colleague”. It has earned bestseller and has been acknowledged on Amazon's 'Hot 100'. Also in 2024, he has been published in the premier California school leadership magazine “ACSA” with an article titled “Implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Support: Considerations for schools adopting MTSS for behavior management.” Both projects followed his Amazon bestselling book titled “Upright” about overcoming a serious struggle with COVID-19. Dr. Pickle’s early published work was a paper that chronicled the epidemic of “Obesity in Public Schools”. Soon thereafter, his first publication was a children’s book called, “Green Beans for Dinner” in which he focuses attention on the importance of eating healthy and building family bonds. Dr. Pickle is most proud of his peer-reviewed work on “The Culture of High Expectations and Academic Achievement in California Public High Schools”. Along with his books, he continues to keep a blog called “Pickle Bytes,” which chronicles his reflections. All his work is published through his publishing company, Indelible Worldwide, that has a mission of “unwavering support of emerging authors in the education sector” The aim is to provide a platform for diverse voices, fresh perspectives, and innovative ideas, fostering a community of writers who are passionate about shaping the future of learning.Dr. Pickle’s wife, an accomplished educator herself, helps make education the most talked about subject in the household. Together with their children they share a commitment to family activities, travels, and adventures.
