Joseph Marchante was born in Cuba in 1944. His birth name is José Luis Francisco Marchante Rey. From kindergarten to his High School graduation, he studied at the Marist Brothers, Colegio Champagnat Catholic School in Havanna. Because of the communist Castro dictatorship, in October 1961, at the age of seventeen, he emigrated to the United States in one of the last Pan Am flights and came to live with his uncle who was a war veteran.In the States, he met his dear wife Lazara of 56 years. In 2023, she passed away after fighting lymphoma cancer. His college education lasted forty years because he had to work full time and study on a part-time basis, with some of the years in between years he could not attend school because of work demands. In New York, he studied at Bernard Baruch College, Hunter College and New York University. Years later in Miami, he attended Miami Dade Community College and Florida International University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001, with a bachelor’s degree Majoring in English with a Minor in Philosophy. He is a Phi Beta Kappa member.Joseph’s preoccupation with religion began in his thirties, after his father had a couple of heart attacks and after watching the documentary about World War II and the extermination of Jews. Where was God when this was happening? His hunger for religious knowledge drove him to read books on the religions of the world, on philosophy, biology, astronomy, and, in short, any book that could help him find the nature of God. In 1985, Joseph wrote his first manuscript, “The Eternal Testament and Station Earth.” That was followed by “The Book of ERC” in 1992, and “Ercian Testament, the Teachings of Proligion and Ercian Philosophy” copyright 2005 and 2010. Recently, he has written, “How to Practice the Ercian Religion,” a short guide to help those who, like himself, wish to follow their own religious path and create a personal relationship with God. Joseph wishes for Peace on Earth.
