Author Name
Stephen Wyley (Author)
Wayne Robinson is the product of an upbringing by three generations of his family. He occasionally claims to be descended from his father. He worked in technical development roles in a variety of industries Accidentally retired, Wayne is working on the Renaissance Person thing, although the sonnets are proving to be an embuggerance.A re-enactor of some vintage, having joined 1066 in 1982 and going on to be a member at different times (and occasionally, founder) of more re-enactment groups than can possibly be healthy. He is currently a member of: The Pike and Musket Society concentrating on the middle class London militia of 13 November, 1642 and; The Company of the Staple based on a merchant company in Calais in 1376. He is sufficiently skilled in ancient, medieval and early modern period leather work, fletching, paint, woodwork and metalwork to bluff convincingly. Much to his own surprise, he finds himself to be a world authority on the carved horn work of Robert Mindum (active 1593-1613).Publications include: The Reverend's Big Book of Leather (2005) and The Reverend's Big Blogge of Leather (2009); A Catalogue of Shoehorns by Robert Mindum (2014 -); The Opus of Robert Mindum- 1593 to 1613 (2018 - ); a small part in Wyley, Robinson and Joyce’s Historic Viking Replicas Vol 1 (2021); with The Double Armed Man - a New Invention in preparation, based on a series of articles about William Neade's 1623 method of arming pikemen with longbows.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
