Many people know about the Advaita Vedanta teachings on the five koshas, sheaths or bodies covering our atman, or highest core self. However, people do not know how to strip off or negate each of the lower koshas to become liberated and attain "Advaita Siddhi," the highest stage of realization of the Self that thereby makes one an enlightened Paramahansa or saint.

This pathway is usually kept secret from the public so the most you will ever hear from an enlightened guru is that "I spent twelve years with my teacher," but the details of that process are herein revealed. The pathway to nirvikalpa samadhi is certainly available in Hinduism but several non-denominational principles from other spiritual traditions fill in some missing details to make its teachings more coherent.

The fact is that you potentially have four higher spiritual bodies of transcendental attainment that are exactly the purified koshas, namely your subtle body (which leaves your physical body upon death), a Causal body, Supra-Causal body and then Immanence body or Superconsciousness body. Second, the spiritual path essentially entails progressively generating each higher body through various Prana exercises that start by refining the vital energy within your present body.

You progressively differentiate the energy of your subtle body from a coarser mixture of internal energies inside you so that it can emerge from your physical shell due to the thinning of its interface with your unpurified residues. The miraculous powers of the Hindu saints arise because they attain these bodies and use them in various ways rather than because they think about something and then it magically manifests.

To attain these higher spiritual bodies that reside on heavenly planes you must cultivate an elevated mental life along with virtuous behavior and helpfulness to others, and refine your Prana through special practices (i. e.

worship, mantra, yoga, pranayama, etc. ) that purify it to a high enough degree to differentiate it from your body’s ocean of coarser vitality.

When the interface between your coarser and purified energies sufficiently thins due to this differentiation then the first of these bodies can finally escape from your physical body of matter. The process of refining your inner Prana to attain the first higher spiritual body is similar to the tale of Samudra Manthana where devas and asuras churned the Ocean of Milk to generate the nectar of immortality because it is through a process of inner energy churning that you progressively achieve the bodies and liberate yourself from samsara.

After sufficient work on your own yogic practices you will undergo a twelve-year process of internal alchemy, overseen by enlightened spiritual masters, that then purifies your inner vital energy to release your subtle body as an independent life. This initiates the true path of spiritual ascension to liberation.
