Shy, natural redhead Janet Syas Nitsick’s writing passion began as a child when she wrote a neighborhood play at 10-years-old. However, her dream of becoming a writer did not materialize until after earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Omaha’s College of Saint Mary in 1995. Janet also is a former language-arts teacher.Accomplishments: Her first book, released in 2006, Seasons of the Soul, won Best of Year from Christianstoryteller. com. The book includes a spattering of accounts of Janet's two different autistic sons -- one verbal and high functioning and the other nonverbal and low functioning. Janet’s story, “The Silver Lining,” placed 10th in the Writer’s Digest mainstream/literary competition in 2010.Today, Janet is an accomplished romance writer who blends mystery and suspense in her clean, Christian, historical romances. Her homespun tales are all set in Nebraska, where she hails from and is familiar with the cities and towns within it.
