IRYNA (IRENE CHUTKO) COLVIN-SPENCER is a naturalized American Citizen, who came to America together with her parents, and a younger sister, as a displaced person. Irene's passion for writing started in her early teens, and the catalyst was when her history teacher submitted her poem to be included in "The Pride of South Park". Her passion for writing never subsided, but raising a family, and her career as paralegal, retiring from Hodgson Russ, and business owner of Franklin's Printing, took precedence. Later in life Irene started writing newsletters for the Lancaster Lions Club, where she served for over ten years. When the Lions were looking for ways to increase their membership, Irene wrote a short story in the newsletter about family's serving together to serve their community. After serving in various community groups in her community throughout most of her adult life, Irene decided to retire from service, and focus on writing. She still maintains close ties with some of her "ZONTA" sisters, and the "Lancaster Lions". Her first book, "The Lion Pride" is a tribute to her late husband, and their Lion friends. Her latest book, “HANNIA – FORGOTTEN HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR” is a true story of her mother’s life from the age of 15 when she was abducted by the Nazi’s. It’s a true story of survival and resilience, reminding us that strength resides in all of us, especially during the darkest of times.
