William Dunn is the President of Strategic Resilience Group. He founded the company in Sept, 2015 after completing over 33 years in the United States Marine Corps. His military career began in 1983, with boot camp at Parris Island, SC. He remained in the USMCR for the next 4 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant. While in the reserves, he attended Old Dominion University, earning a bachelor's degree in business administration, and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant via the Platoon Leaders Course (PLC) program in 1988. Upon completion of "The Basic School" and the Infantry Officers Course in Quantico, Virginia, he reported to Naval Air Station, Pensacola for flight training. In 1991 he was assigned as a Marine Cobra pilot, moved to New River, NC, and completed two Mediterranean deployments. After deploying, he attended Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI) Course in Yuma, Arizona. Upon completion of WTI he returned to New River and held the billet of squadron WTI. During this time, he completed his master's degree in business administration from Boston University. Over the next several years he held various billets and completed additional deployments. In 2002 he was assigned as a student at Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, VA. In 2003 he was pulled out of school to deploy to Iraq as a Forward Air Controller for Lima Company, 7th Marines (L 3/7) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He fought from Safwan to Baghdad.Returning from this deployment, he was assigned to Headquarters Marine Corps Department of Aviation.He attained the rank of LtCol in 2005 and in May, 2006 he assumed command of HMLA-369, "The Gunfighters." In April, 2007, he deployed to Iraq, for seven months, with "The Gunfighters" in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08. After commanding the Gunfighters, he attended Top Level School at the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS). After completing Top Level School, he was promoted to Colonel and assigned as a Battle Watch Commander and the Operations Officer of Joint Functional Component Command Global Strike at United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) in Omaha, Nebraska. Following his tour at USSTRATCOM he was assigned as the Commanding Officer of Marine Aircraft Group - 40 and deployed to Kuwait and Bahrain in support of Middle East Operations. After this tour he was selected as a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Commander and assumed command of the 22nd MEU. While in Command, his MEU deployed forces to Yemen, Libya, Iraq and many other operational areas in support of 5th and 6th fleets.
