Author Name
Bruce H Cline (Author)
Bruce Cline is a longtime boater, who started rafting in college by renting a rubber ducky from his college rental center, and doing an overnight trip with friends on northern New Mexico’s Wild and Scenic Rio Chama. At best, his inaugural run was an experience in ricochet rafting! He cut his rafting teeth on New Mexico’s Rio Grande and Rio Chama, and Colorado’s Arkansas River. Soon, while still an undergraduate student, he started a small rafting outfitting company specializing in one- and two-day paddle trips. Even while boating commercially, he and his colleagues specialized in teaching passengers how to guide, recognizing that the sport is safe, easily learned, and can be enjoyed by most anyone. Later, he taught whitewater rafting at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and San Juan College in Farmington (NM). In 1991 he took his first trip through Grand Canyon with five friends. Over the years he rafted and canoed in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, California, Montana, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. He attempted his first Grand Canyon solo in 2001 after returning to the Southwest following a stint working in Washington, D.C. In 2010 he took up paddle boarding in Kauai and in 2012 began sit-atop kayaking. Additionally, while back east and while living in Colorado he volunteered his gear and services by taking non-profit groups, fellow employees, and National Service members down local rivers. He currently lives in the Denver area with his wife and oldest daughter. His youngest daughter is a special education teacher in the greater Denver area. Bruce has an undergraduate degree in Fine Art and a graduate degree in law, both from the University of New Mexico.Read more about this authorRead less about this author

This book is a collection of photos, mostly from river level, of the Grand Canyon. It shows a tiny fraction of what one sees while drifting along the Colorado River between Lees Ferry and Pearce Ferry: landscapes, rocks, cliffs, the water, clouds, plants, and animals.

If you are at all curious about what the experience of floating through the Grand Canyon, this collection will give you some idea of the extraordinary variety of what you'll see. It's a great introduction to the Canyon from the bottom up, and I hope will inspire readers to go see the Canyon for themselves!.
