The world food supply is at a crossroads. Since the advent of genetic engineering, thousands of products containing GMOs have entered the marketplace.

The nutritional landscape was further disrupted by a new class of genetically modified foods derived from CRISPR technology that can be used to "edit" genes within plants, animals, humans, and other organisms of the same species. They pose similar threats to human health and the environment but are not labeled.
