Giordano Bruno intendeva, alla fine del XVI secolo, costruire un sistema di comunicazione politica che fondasse la convivenza civile sul consenso dei cittadini e non sulla violenza coercitiva delle istituzioni, da attuarsi attraverso «vincoli» con cui dirigere il desiderio degli individui. A me sembra che questo suo progetto non possa che rientrare negli stessi paradigmi che definiscono la pubblicità nella nostra società post-moderna.
Da questa costatazione mi è balenata nella mente un’idea bislacca: provare a leggere il De Vinculis di Bruno incrociandolo con un moderno testo di marketing, nella convinzione che essi condividano un assunto essenziale: solo intercettando il desiderio dei singoli individui è possibile creare consenso all’interno del consorzio umano. .
