Sometimes I start by letting the pen lead and discover unusual patterns and designs. Other times I have an idea or image in my mind and capture it as quickly as possible before it changes or is lost. Art is an ever changing process for me. I can go from refined and incredibly intricate to something simple and somewhat primitive or primal in a heartbeat. My photography, which I create my grayscale coloring books drives me. I strive to get the right angle, the perfect shot. However what makes a wonderful photo does not always make a great grayscale image. I now wear two hats when doing photography, the photographer with the desirer for perfect lighting, framing and of course colors now competes with the need to have a clear image that will have a balance between light and dark. I have always had a love for art. Art and crafting are a part of who I am and are as important as breathing. I am inspired by medieval Illumination, nature, Mandalas, Celtic and Roman and many different artistic designs all over the world and time. For many years I created and painted intricate illuminations. I have created several coloring books strongly influenced by Mandalas and the need to put in a lot of details in. The designs can be challenging. I am creating more adult coloring books with a focus on designs that are relaxing and fun. I will always pepper the books with a mix of designs from simply relaxing to OMG what was I thinking. I hope you enjoy your time coloring and relaxing.
