Anne Edmondson Barbour grew up on a farm in southwest Missouri, the only girl in the family with three brothers. She always loved reading and read every book in the library for her age before she was six years old. History was her favorite school subject. Writing appealed to her, leading to her taking a writing course by mail when she was still working. She then used that in penning articles for newsletters and genealogical publications. Perhaps that love of writing even spilled over into the long Christmas letters of years ago.Her husband also was a lover of history, and after both retired, it became a regular occurrence for them to dress in period clothing and travel to venues presenting programs depicting historic times and events, including the Oregon Trail. They became well known for their endeavors and received many accolades and requests for presentations. Anne is also a genealogist, perhaps a branching off of her love of history. She has traced both hers and her husband’s family many generations back. She has proved several ancestors who took part in the American Revolution and is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. After becoming a widow, Anne returned to her love of writing. Using her life experiences as well as her story-telling ability and being a true romantic at heart (she and her late husband married two months and two days after their first date), she began writing romance novels.
