K.F. Lethal (Author)
Hello! I'm K. F. Lethal, and I'm an Epic Fantasy Romance Author. I've been writing for five years and have finally published my first book. Besides writing, I love photography, going on hikes to find waterfalls, trying out different types of wine, going over the road with my husband who is a Tractor Trailer driver, kayaking, swimming, reading, and cuddling with my cats. I aspire to publish a series, one that connects to another, and create a publishing company to help authors publish their books. My top three favorite authors are Gena Showalter, Cassandra Gannon, and C. C. Hunter. My writing journey. As a child, I had a vivid imagination when it came down to playing make-believe. I played hide-and-seek with faeries, dug up treasures to put in my treehouse, made potions from plants and flowers, and I laid in the shadowy parts of the grass, chatting with the coolness as if it were my friend.Growing up, I had issues with speech and comprehension, which made it difficult to read books. Instead, I would write with words I understood and knew. The first story I ever wrote was when I was eight, and it was about stumbling upon a dragon in a bloody cave. Ever since then, I have loved writing my ideas on paper because it brings them to life. With the help of a speech psychologist, more one-on-one time with my teachers, and Sylvan Learning Center, I was able to finally understand what I was reading and could expand my knowledge of words. Some of the books I remember reading on my own without any help were The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler and The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. When I was fourteen, it wasn’t until my grandma June passed that I used writing as a coping method to deal with her loss. My writing became darker and more morbid, but it was helping me heal. Since then, writing has provided me with a sense of comfort and release. As a teenager, I enjoyed watching Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings movies. What got me to start writing romance into my fantasy stories was when my sister introduced me to Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. By the age of sixteen, I had written my first fantasy romance book, The Book of Nigel. I had thought to publish it, but with the darker themes, I chose to wait until I was older. At the age of twenty-four, I picked up the book again on the ten-year anniversary of my grandmothers’ death. It wasn’t planned, but a coincidence. For three years, I dedicated all my free time to polish the story and made it into a series. When I was twenty-seven, I had finished and sent my book out to Beta Readers. A couple of them made comments that my prologue could be its own book. That input got the ideas flowing and I stopped with my first series and wrote an entirely different series, Forged by Love and Sacrifice. After spending another two years developing the Forged series, I’m finally ready to share my stories with the world.Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey on how I became an author.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
