Ziel war die Entwicklung von hinsichtlich Flammschutz modifizierten Polyamiden (Polyamid 6 (PA 6) und Polyamid 66 (PA 66)) für den LS-Prozess sowie zur Weiterverarbeitung zu endlosfaserverstärkten Bauteilen im FDM-Prozess. Die Verarbeitbarkeit von Hochleistungsthermoplasten zu Bauteilen mit komplexer Faserverstärkung sollte im entwickelten Fused Layer Manufacturing (FLM)-Prozess gegeben sein.
Gleichzeitig wurde die Einstellung robuster Verarbeitungsbedingungen der Materialien in beiden Verfahren unter Anpassung bzw. Entwicklung der erforderlichen Prozessführung, Anlagentechnik und Qualitätssicherung verfolgt.
