Water samples were collected from six different locations, and were evaluated for its suitability in both wet and dry seasons using the American Public Health Association standard method for water analyses. Water quality indices (WQI) for the following seven (17) parameters were calculated, such as pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, turbidity, biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen demand, sulphate, phosphate, nitrate, total hardness, calcium, magnesium, alkalinity, colour and chloride.
Heavy metals and some microbial parameters showed significant differences which were above regulatory standards limits of World Health Organization (WHO) and the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON). .
