) in their chive cultivation. This thesis experimented with the effect of limestone powder combined with NPK 17-17-17 mineral fertilization to improve, if not maintain, production at an acceptable level and manage nematode attacks.
For this purpose, the local chive cultivar was tested. The trial was conducted using a split-plot design with three replications.
Data recorded included incidence of nematode infestation, plant length, number of tillers produced per plant, and yield obtained (after extrapolation to the hectare). Overall, the results showed that the use of NPK 17-17-17 mineral fertilizer combined with limestone powder significantly influenced the length growth, number of tillers and yield of chives, and reduced the level of nematode infestation.
