Born in 1975 in Iran, I experienced a childhood marked by political turmoil and uncertainty. In 1979, the Islamic Revolution swept through the country, turning our world upside down. My family and I found ourselves on the run, fleeing from the brutal persecution of dissenters under the new government.We were forced to hide in the shadows, with our lives hanging by a thread. It was a time of fear, uncertainty, and constant worry for the safety of our family. Every day, we prayed that the darkness of oppression would one day be pierced by a ray of hope.Years passed before we finally reached Germany in November 1985, after a long and arduous journey. Here, after completing my pharmacy studies in Düsseldorf, I began a new chapter in my life. However, the call of my homeland and the memories of Iran never faded. They remained deeply etched in my heart, compelling me to find a way to stand up for change.In 2022, this calling grew louder as I joined the feminist protests. The movement was advocating for human rights in Iran, and I felt that I had to take action. That's when I became a part of the "Free Human" initiative, dedicated to advocating for the rights of people in Iran. Our mission is to shine a light on the hidden atrocities and to be a voice for those who have been silenced.For me, it is of utmost importance that those of us living in democracies use our privilege to speak up for those who have no voice in countries like Iran. It is more than a duty; it is an obligation born from my own experiences and a longing for a more just world.
