Shannon was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. She spent most of her youth dancing, singing, or performing on stage. It was through her love of writing thought that she penned and had published 2 poems by age 17 after winning some writing contests. She was often seen carrying her decorative "lucky pen" and notepad around with her to jot down poetry and short stories when the mood struck at home and school.As an ardent hockey fan, she enjoyed attending live games with her family and going to her high school for performing arts. A highly creative young girl, she designed clothing and had dreams of becoming a fashion designer while working as a model. At the age of 17 she informed her parents she would be leaving home to seek her fortunes as both. After hopping on the all-night bus she arrived in downtown Toronto. It was there that she worked at some different jobs, including modeling and returned to school taking courses in audio/visual and English Literature. She turned down the opportunity to work on a Canadian TV series for personal reasons, while pursuing her other dreams.Shortly after, she became a mother, College graduate with honors, and began a successful healthcare management career for over 30 years, and more recently a Holistic Practitioner. Throughout her journeys, Shannon has encountered countless adventures, leading to requests from people, including a CBC Journalist, to document them. Finally, at the age of 54, she has started writing again. She is working on her memoir and a series of short stories. She and her son both wanted to write children’s books simultaneously, so she has decided to take a short break from her other projects and release these books first.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
