I have been a pastor for 42 years and today, enjoy opportunities to preach in other churches -- both in Sunday morning worship services and the opportunities to share an overview of my new book Witness His Grace. Overall this book is a collection of positive, inspirational stories about experiencing and sharing God's grace. In addition I examine some of the specific reasons why "some churches in America are dwindling in their influence and are declining in their membership. I also speak to the scandal of the resignation under duress and the termination of nearly 20,000 pastors each year in America. {I myself joined their ranks almost two years ago, resulting from stress, burnout and the reality of man's own failure to forgive and extend grace}. I strive to offer insights and suggestions on the subject of forgiveness, reconciliation and the "ministry of confrontation", along with the importance of discipline within the life of a local church. Since the publication of this book, several individuals have communicated to me that they are using some of the illustrations and insights in their own Bible classes and even sharing copies of the book with others. As noted in the bio information, my wife and I have hosted 15 international exchange students, in addition to the children adopted and the blessing of the birth of a son many years after the medical community had said "there will be no births". My wife and I have traveled widely throughout the world, both in Asia, Europe, Egypt and South America. Consistently we have found those with whom to witness and share God's grace and the testimony of His inclusive and reconciling love. Today I continue to work among the international community as I minister in language missions in our community. I also serve as an Area Representative for Youth for Understanding -- maintaining monthly contact with other families who are hosting exchange students.
