In this, his sixth book of poetry, Duhaney, or DAS as he’s also called, delivers a heartfelt message of love, pleasant memories, and camaraderie centered around his beloved alma mater, Kingston College (KC). The verses resonate with the spirit of brotherhood, echoing through the hallowed halls where generations of Fortis brothers once walked, and which are now graced by young, enthusiastic, dream-filled, and ambitious Fortis youths.

The poems present a symphony of emotions, capturing raw feelings from conversations, personal reflections, and debates, spanning various spectrums, including, economics to spirituality, romance to reason, and politics to philosophy. The poems are both descriptive and prescriptive as DAS implores his brothers to be the best version of themselves, caring for one another’s economic, physical, and mental well-being.

Through poetic wisdom he offers remedies for life’s challenges, urging resilience and compassion. Duhaney’s spirituality shines through in many of the poems where his belief in God’s grace infuses the stanzas.

His Fortis pride is also quite evident as he celebrates KC’s greatness, exploring the qualities that define this remarkable high school. His poetic expressions pay tribute to the contributions of various groups to the school’s success, the unwavering dedication of principals and teachers, the indomitable spirit of students, the firm support of parents and Old Boys, the loyalty of the administrative, grounds, gym, and ancillary staff, and, of course, the KC Faithfuls.
