Kat Holt (Author)
Kat Holt is a new author with 'Unfinished Business' being her first book to publish but will be followed shortly by the next two books in the series. 'Down to Business' and 'Not Just Business' were originally planned to round out a trilogy, but when the story didn’t stop, and the characters continued to thrive, they became the first three books in her Unfinished Business series. Although she has never considered herself a romantic, spicy romance, with a little touch of humor, a pinch of action, and a dose of mystery, seems to naturally flow out of Kat and onto the page. She gives her readers well rounded characters with a female lead who is strong beyond words, down to earth, and someone hopefully most women will relate to as she is a mother, a grandmother, a career woman, loves her family and friends, and loves burning up the sheets with her forever love as they get their second chance. She is also a character who has been through the unthinkable and survived with her faith in love and her faith in the Lord intact. Kat’s male lead is someone you may have dated a time or two, maybe in your early twenties, and when looked back on thought you dodged a bullet, but when seeing who he grew into, it makes you think twice. He is intelligent, caring, sexy, and more of a romantic than anyone would guess, except his love. She knew all along. He is a man you love to love!Kat’s background helped her with her characters’ back story as she worked at several different houses in the investment business in the 80’s, as a licensed advisor and assistant trader. Little Rock, Arkansas was known as Little Wall Street because it had more investment companies (bond houses) per capita than almost anywhere else other than Wall Street in NYC.Kat has lived in the South since the age of two when her father retired from the US Air Force and brought his Greek wife and their five children home to Central Arkansas. She is a proud Southern lady who can swear like a sailor when necessary, shoot a bull’s eye on a target, clean a fish, fix the plumbing, electrical, or just about anything else that goes wrong in a house, and can ‘bless your heart’ with the best of them. She is a self-proclaimed guys’ gal, who loves sports, whether it’s watching or playing, and cheering for Dallas Cowboy football and Arkansas Razorbacks basketball and football. Woo PIG Sooie! (WPS!) Let’s go Hogs! She loves breakfast foods and coffee any time of day. She is known to enjoy a vodka martini or two and an occasional sneaked cigar. She happens to love her martinis dirty just like her romance novels. Her daddy taught her that nothing is better than an ice-cold beer on a hot and humid Arkansas day, and that statement has proven true more than a time or two. Pair that beer with some buffalo wings and slice, and she is ready for the game! When Kat isn’t up into the wee hours of the night bringing her characters to life on the page, you can find her cooking and/or baking for her husband and those she loves, out for an extended happy hour with friends, being in awe of the women her two beautiful daughters have grown up to become, or hear her cheering for her loves, her three grandsons, who hold the biggest chunk of her heart, as they play sports. And when I said HEAR her cheering, it wasn’t a figure of speech. Her oldest grandson texted her this past high school basketball season, “I’ll hear you at my game tomorrow night,” not I’ll see you. And she is there every time possible, home or away, when one of them plays. You will find her normally sitting solo and videoing, as her volume has been known to clear the bleachers around her, and her family knows to sit about three rows back.Kat hopes she can continue to write and bring you more characters to love in the future while she travels both near and far, to either visit those she loves or take one or five of them with her to explore the globe.
