I was born and raised in Suffolk, VA, and graduated from Suffolk High School in 1976. I joined the Army in 1976 to be a combat engineer and I was stationed in Hawaii in the 25th Infantry Division in the 65th Engineer Battalion at Scofield Barracks after I completed basic training. I received an award for soldier of the month in my company in October 1977, and I served until 1978 when I received a medical honorable discharge.I attended Paul D. Camp Community College for two years and studied drafting and welding. I was also considered for inclusion in the 2002 edition of Who's Who in America.I received an honorary award letter from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Honorary Founders in April 2001 for my poetry. Some of my poetry has been made into gospel songs, some of which aired on local gospel radio stations. I am also deacon at Capernaum Seventh Day Adventist Church in Suffolk and I give my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ all the glory and praise for my accomplishments. I can do nothing without Him. I have been married to my loving wife Trephenia Clemons for 20 years. We live in Franklin, VA, where the Holy Spirit inspires me to write my prose poetry about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
