Der Autor wurde von seinen Arbeitskolleginnen und -kollegen in diese Position gewählt, die ihn verpflichtete, ihre Rechte zu verteidigen. Dies brachte ihm eine nervenaufreibende Aufgabe ein, denn in seiner Funktion entdeckte er Reglementverletzungen zum Nachteil der Angestellten.

Noch viel härter war dann sein Kampf gegen den Plan der Geschäftsleitung von einer firmeneigenen Stiftung. Dieser Kampf war bitter nötig.

Die Alterskapitalien aller Angestellten wären sonst in grosse Gefahr geraten oder sogar verloren gewesen. .
