M. K. Graff (Author)
Marni Graff is the award-winning author of The Nora Tierney English Mysteries and The Trudy Genova Manhattan Mysteries. DEATH IN THE ORCHARD is Trudy Genova #3, where Trudy travels home with her NYPD detective boyfriend to unearth what really happened eleven years ago when her father died. Mandy Morton says the book is a “masterclass.” Her most recent English mystery, THE EVENING's AMETHYST, book five in the Nora Tierney series, is a book celebrated UK author Nicola Upson (The Josephine Tey series) notes: "Graff delivers her trademark blend of compelling mystery, vivid setting, and engaging characters—and in Nora Tierney she has created a sleuth whose humanity and insight are the stars of the show. A fine addition to a wonderful series. I loved it."Each of Graff's books are available in print, Kindle, and on Audible. Signed copies through Bridle Path Press.Graff debuted the first of The Trudy Genova Manhattan Mysteries with DEATH UNSCRIPTED, which follows nurse Trudy Genova, who works as a medical consultant for a NY movie studio. Based on Graff's favorite nursing job when she lived in NY and suggested by Graff's mentor, P D James, Trudy Genova considers herself lucky to have such a great job without true emergencies. That is, until the actor who has been been annoying her suddenly dies in the middle of taping--but not before pointing his finger accusingly at Trudy. The second book in the series, DEATH AT THE DAKOTA find Trudy working on a television movie filmed at the famed Dakota apartment building, when the actress she's charged with protecting disappears, and shortly after, another cast member is murdered. Meanwhile, boyfriend NYPD detective Ned O'Malley faces a perplexing case, when the body of a burn victim is found in a dumpster, unable to be identified. How the two cases overlap will put Trudy in danger and almost end her budding romance with Ned.Bruce Robert Coffin, #1 bestselling author of The Detective Byron Mysteries, says: "Part procedural, part cozy, Death at the Dakota is a well-crafted and highly entertaining mystery."Readers of Death Unscripted will find the same pleasures in this sequel: fast pacing, engaging characters, twists and turns on the way to a satisfying close.”Graff's first in the Nora Tierney English Mysteries, THE BLUE VIRGIN, won First Place for British Cozy in the Mystery and Mayhem Awards from Chanticleer Media. Her fourth in that series, THE GOLDEN HOUR, takes Nora to Brighton, Cornwall and Bath, where a stalker turns deadly serious in Nora's life just as her partner, Declan Barnes, investigates the murder of an art conservator. These two threads are interwoven to frame the book author Ausma Khan calls ". . . a meditation on love, loss and motherhood, THE GOLDEN HOUR blends touchingly real domesticity with tongue-in-cheek humor, as the backdrop to a tale of art theft, germ warfare, and international conspiracy." GH was shortlisted for the Mystery and Mayhem Award from Chanticleer Media. With these all set in the UK, Graff's English series follows the American children's book writer as Nora manages to involve herself in police investigations. THE BLUE VIRGIN is set in Oxford, that hallowed mix of town and gown. THE GREEN REMAINS takes Nora to England's glorious Lake District and also won Best British Cozy from Chanticleer Media. Book 3 in the series, THE SCARLET WENCH, was shortlisted for the same award. Here's what Editing Pen and Publishing had to say about the series:" . . . Graff's clean, uncluttered style is smooth and polished, and there are no irrelevant details or conversations. . . I loved every page of all the books."A native New Yorker now living in rural North Carolina, Graff has written essays, interviews, poetry, and screenplays. She is co-author of WRITING IN A CHANGING WORLD, her writing group's primer on finding one's own critique group and providing useful feedback. Her short story, "Quiche Alain," is in the Anthony-Award winning Malice Domestic Anthology 14: Mystery Most Edible. She also has a story, "The Sound of Murder" in the Triangle Sisters in Crime anthology, Rock, Roll, and Ruin.A member of Sisters in Crime, several local chapters, the NC Writers Network, and the International Association of Crime Writers, Graff is Managing Editor of the curated hybrid press, and she also writes for Miss Demeanors, a crime book review blog. The third Trudy Genova mystery from award-winning author M. K.

Graff brings Trudy home, leaving her New York City studio consulting job to visit her rural hometown of Schoharie, three hours north. NYPD detective Ned O'Malley accompanies Trudy, primed to meet her family, but with a secret mission to find out what really happened when her father died eleven years ago.

Mario Genova's death was deemed a tragic accident, but Trudy feels there was more to her beloved father acting out of character the day before he died. After years of hard work building a successful apple orchard business with her mother, Mario cleaned out their bank accounts.

No reason-and no money-was ever found. As Trudy and Ned try to investigate without informing her family of their actions, a new death occurs on Genova Orchards property, and once again Trudy's family is under scrutiny.

"A welcome and forceful return of MK Graff's Trudy Genova, Death in the Orchard is a well- crafted and thought-provoking story of unexplained death and cold-blooded murder, as Trudy sets out to solve the death of her father with her NYPD boyfriend Ned O'Malley. The couple return to the Genova family orchards to dig into the past as the present threatens to shake the family to their very core.

Graff deals us a cold case of family intrigue, a small-town conspiracy, and a terrifying leap into the unknown, as her heroine comes face to face with a secret she thought would never be told, a case impossible to solve, and a dogged determination to finally get to the truth. A masterclass in laying the threads bare and knitting them together in a satisfying conclusion.

" Mandy Morton, Author of The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency series.
