Born to a pair of lawyers in Ensenada, a small town in Baja California, by the end of 6th grade had read most of his family's extensive and very diverse library, from classical literature to physics, from Plato to zoology and many other subjects. Wrote a yet unpublished novel at age 13, and some poetry, short stories and philosophy in his late teens and as a young adult. Went on to get a technical degree on Food Processing (Biochemistry) and university degrees in Visual Arts, Law, Education and a Doctorate in Art. In the last few years has been studying courses on neurosciences, physics, biology and evolutionary psychology, with a focus on their relationship with art and semiotics. He was disowned by his family when he announced that he had enrolled at the Bachelor in Arts, but reconnected once he went into law school a few years latter. In 2001, he founded the first ever professional art school in Northwestern Mexico, with a Bachelor in Visual Arts program, that has grown to have two bachelors and four masters programs, all designed mainly by this author. He has taught and directed thesis at UIA and UG Guanajuato at the Masters and Doctoral level and has designed two bachelor programs for the CUT University in Sonora, Mexico. Has written in Spanish and English, mainly about the scientific study of art and art meaning, being the creator –around the year 2000– of Arsology, the new science devoted to the study of art, and more recently has redefined Semiology as a scientific discipline of study. Has also worked around the impacts of his General Theory of Art upon other fields, such as anthropogeny –origin of humanity–, the 1st Word Problem, Art Education or Human Rights, amongst other subjects. He published Arsology, the science of art (2008, currently only in Spanish), Semiology for Artists and Designers (2017 in Spanish, 2018 in English) and the General Treatise on Semiology (2019, currently only in Spanish). He has been active in the Visual Arts, since 1986 with shows –mainly of painting, drawing, graphics and photography– in Mexico, USA, France and Japan, both in private and public venues.
