My wife, Kathy, and I have three kids (Edward, Davis, and Mary Katherine), two dogs (Mercy and Lilly), and one horse (Prince Caspian). My teaching career began in 1993 at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama, where I taught adjunctively while loading trucks for UPS. In August of 1995 we moved to Taylor University and the arctic tundra of Upland, Indiana—population 2000. Now my family’s home is the Hoosier state. I teach an array of courses on the New Testament at Taylor as well as Sunday School at Upland Community Church, weekly Bible studies at the University Nursing Home, and a spring course at Pendleton prison. My passions are teaching, writing, and forestry. The forest has become my preferred sanctuary; I love trees and the critters that inhabit them.
