Joel Byron Howard was born in Barbados on October 13, 1955. He was the only child of his parents, Kenneth Howard and Linda Howard (nee Lewis), who both died just over two years later in a tragic auto accident at the young ages of 27 and 23 respectively. Joel was educated at the St. John Primary, The Abbie Elementary, The Lodge Secondary School, The Barbados Community College, The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus, and Keiser University. He also attended L'Alliance Française de Bridgetown. His work career spanned over 46 years in the field of Finance and Accounting for several companies across the Automobile, Travel, Audit, Retail, Communication, and Petroleum Sectors. Joel was an avid member of Kiwanis Barbados South Service Club, and served as the Treasurer of the Society Cricket Club which is based at the famous Codrington College in St John, Barbados.
