Thank you for visiting my page. I'm a member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters In Crime, Willamette Writers, IBPA, and Oregon Writers Colony. With my debut novel, Shallow Waters, I introduced a thrilling new mystery series set in my native state of Oregon, alongside our rugged Pacific coast. The second installment, Midnight Beach, continued the excitement with a story based on a real-life crime. Code: Tsunami, the third book in the series, is - I desperately hope - NOT based on a real-life future event. Dark Sand, the fourth installment, picks up the action one year after the earthquake and tsunami. Phantom Cove, book 5 in the series and my personal favorite (so far!) was published in late 2022. It was followed by bestselling Mourning Bay in 2023. Cold Rock Island, book 7, will publish in May, 2024. Book 8 is underway, and I hope to complete it by late 2024.Born in the southwest corner of Oregon in a small town not unlike my fictional Port Stirling, I now live in Estacada, Oregon, with my charming husband, Steve, a technology entrepreneur. Before turning to writing novels, I enjoyed a long career in corporate communications in such varied industries as tourism, healthcare, and sports. Since 2000, I've owned Paris Communications, a marketing, PR, and publishing firm. Like many Oregonians, I'm passionate about gardening, and earned Master Gardener status. A true plant nerd, I'm obsessively zealous about growing vegetables, although with 34 roses and counting, one could also make the case that I'm a tiny bit obsessed with roses, too.I love the outdoors, particularly in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and I'm happiest hiking, playing bad golf, and enjoying the beaches, rivers, and lakes.A determined, avid traveler since my teens, I've visited dozens of countries around the world. While every place has its charms if you look hard enough, I include Scotland, the Galapagos Islands, Switzerland, Maui, and France’s Dordogne region among my favorites. High on my post-Covid travel list currently are the Shetland Islands, Japan, and New Zealand.Thank you for reading!Read more about this authorRead less about this author

Readers of Robert Dugoni, Kendra Elliot, and Ann Cleeves will be captivated by Kay Jennings’ sensational 7th installment in the Port Stirling Mystery series. A body hanging from a rafter.

An estranged husband bent on revenge. Police Chief Matt Horning and State Department Special Agent Fern Byrne return in a thrilling tale of international intrigue that begins with a heartbreaking death on a mysterious island in the Pacific Ocean, and ends up on powerful desks in Washington, D.

C. West Coast billionaire Rohn Reid calls his old friend, the U.

S. Secretary of State, to tell him he’s just found a dead body on his private island – Cold Rock Island, about thirty minutes off the southern coast of Oregon.

The victim is Hiroshi Matsuda, a military hero who once worked on the island. The nearest police jurisdiction is Port Stirling, and Matt and Fern are enlisted to investigate, and are soon at odds with the billionaire and his family.

But the Port Stirling PD has another problem, as new detective Tamryn Gesicki can’t seem to begin her new life in peace. In the high-powered heritage of Harlan Coben, the puzzling island death turns into a suspenseful challenge for the local law enforcement team.

Will it stretch them to the limit?Praise for A Port Stirling Mystery Series:Quite the thriller - EmilyOk. Must say this is the best one so far, but I have said that as I progressed through the volumes in this series.

The author has created characters who are believable. My wife and I refer to the characters by their first name, as if they are personal friends.

Another fantastic story from Kay Jennings – Claudia H. I thought that Code: Tsunami was the book to top her list.

Wrong. Mourning Bay kept me puzzled until the end to figure out "who done it.
