I grew up in San Jose, California. In 1989, at age 31, I moved to Ventura, California, where I met my dream girl and future wife, Jennifer. I love history, fixing things, and cooking. My first book, Follow the Loser, How Abject Failures Can Lead a Revolution, was a passion project. I spent seven years researching the topics of this book and loved every minute of it. My career is in automotive, specifically automatic transmissions. I've worked as a transmission rebuilder, technical trainer, and, for 21 years, CEO of the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association. My study of business and Six Sigma training led me to help other business owners. This formed the foundation of my second book, Hi-Rev for Small Business, co-authored with world-renowned business trainer and coach Jim Cathcart.In 2022, I moved to Henderson, Nevada, where I discovered my latest passion: pool care. This led to my third book, Clear Water: A Pool Owner's Guide to Trouble-Free Care. I have an eclectic array of interests centered on fixing things and making the complex understandable.
