What characterises Reykjavík as a city, and how has it shaped the history and identity of Icelanders?Exploring its attractions, comparing it to other cities, and contemplating its future, this book also raises the question of whether there is worse weather anywhere else in the world than in Reykjavík. Within these pages, Magnus Skjöld, an associate professor of politics at Bifröst University, Iceland, offers insights into the intricate facets of Reykjavík.

He navigates through its history, politics, culture, climate, and, notably, its population, considering the impact of both the tourist boom and recent immigration on the city and its people. .
