Olena Skuratova (Author)
My name is Olena Skuratova, and I was born and raised in a small city in Ukraine, where I grew up immersed in a mix of Russian and Ukrainian cultures. From an early age, I was greatly influenced by my great-grandmother's education and upbringing, which instilled in me a love for learning and sharing knowledge.Driven by my passion for education, I pursued a Master's degree in education with a focus on foreign languages. I graduated with honors, equipped with the necessary skills to teach and inspire others. Eager to explore new opportunities, I moved to the United States and specialized in ESL (English as a Second Language) teaching with Cambridge. During my time there, I dedicated myself to assisting migrant communities in Oregon State, helping them integrate and thrive in their new environment.Seeking further enriching experiences, I later relocated to Mexico, where I taught English to aspiring doctors and nurses. It was a fulfilling experience, as I had the privilege of inspiring and guiding students toward their professional growth. Additionally, becoming a mother to my first child in Mexico deepened my connection to the country, leaving a part of my heart there forever. This also sparked my interest in child development and the learning process, leading me to pursue studies in Early Childhood Education in Canada.Currently residing in Canada, my family and I have made this country our home. I have been fortunate enough to receive a great education and have my family's support, which has had a profound impact on my personal and professional development. As someone with diverse passions, my interests extend to various areas. One of my greatest passions is my daughter and her education, which has inspired me to write books not only for her but for children in general. These books cover topics such as child development milestones and the challenges that mothers often face. While my focus lies on motherhood and education, I continue to work as an ESL teacher for migrant workers in Canada. It is important for me to give back to the community and help those in need. Some of the books I write are also directed towards my profession, providing resources and guidance to ESL teachers.Lastly, I take great pride in my Ukrainian heritage and strive to share the beauty and richness of my country with the world. Through my diverse range of books and my work as an educator, I hope to reach as many people as possible and showcase the wonders of Ukraine. In summary, my life's journey has led me to embrace my diverse passions and channel them into my work as an ESL teacher, author, and advocate for maternal and child education. I am proud of my Ukrainian heritage and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of others through sharing knowledge, experiences, and the love for learning.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
