Teaching and Related ServiceDr. Flynn teaches Biochemistry, General Chemistry and Advanced Metabolism at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX.He is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Society of Brewing Chemists, and the American Homebrewers Association. He is also a member of the Amarillo High Plains Drafters Homebrew Club. He has coached or played rugby since 1988. Dr. Flynn has served on the Executive Committee of the ACS Panhandle Plains local section since 2015 and played an integral role in setting up an endowed scholarship which the Local Section sponsored in 2018.Research and Creative ActivityDr. Flynn’s research interests include the study of yeast metabolism, metabolomics as well as brewing processes and theories. He has over 40 professional publications including ten articles written by undergraduate students. Dr. Flynn has several publications in the Journal of Undergraduate Chemistry Research, Journal of Agriculture and Food Chemistry and Amino Acids. He regularly hosts a “Chemistry of Alcoholic Beverages” symposium for the American Chemical Society and recently published a Symposium Series book on the subject.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
