I have always liked a good story and as a child, I would often write short stories to entertain myself and classmates. It wasn't until years later, after my retirement that I began writing again basically for the same reason. I came up with a central character based after an older adult like me and called him, Otis Flagg. The difference being, that Otis could be adventurous by traversing time and visiting parallel worlds. I made a trilogy out of the first three novels and now have continued his life and times, writing about whole new adventures. The first new adventure is about Otis becoming a front man in a rock band. I plan to continue the Otis Flagg saga into the future with a new adventure every now and then as time permits. I have also written and published other books. They include a book of poetry, titled "In the Garden", which came out in September of 2020, "Don't Just Wait Tables, Dazzle Them", a non fictional self help manual on giving excellent customer service, and "Lieb County", a book of short stories based around a fictitious county in NW Iowa. As of this writing I am currently working on a new novel based on a play I wrote some years back, titled "Die Happy".Rounding out my retirement life, I like to paint with acrylic oils and have produced well over a hundred paintings, many of which are hanging in public and private places around the U.S. I would advise everyone to explore their inner selves and share it with the world.
