SAUNDRA McCLAINBorn and raised in Philadelphia, Ms. McClain attended Temple University and received her BA from Lehman College and her MFA from California State University-Fullerton. As an actor, Ms. McClain has worked in all levels of theatre discipline, on and off Broadway, regionally and in Europe and Australia, films and recurring/guest star roles on TV and Film. A two time Ovation Award, LA Drama Critics Award and NAACP Theatre Award nominee. She is a member of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, Screen Actors Guild-American Federation Television and Radio Artists, Actors Equity Association, Lifetime member of the Actors Studio and the Antaeus Theatre Company. She was co-founder/Artistic Director of Troupe NY for seven years. She attended BMI-Musical Theatre Workshop where she wrote book and lyrics for two musicals, Storm Warning and Caribe received development grants from National Endowment for the Arts and New York State Council of the Arts and further developed and workshopped at Public Theater and Kennedy Center and Ascap/DisneyMusical Theatre Workshop. She is currently developing a series of children’s books, Peepo and the Magic Talisman, and adapting it as a series for television.She now resides in California where she continues to perform and direct.Read more about this authorRead less about this author
