Jeff Mullins is a native Oregonian with a diverse background and eclectic interests.Jeff spent 6 years serving as an electrician and nuclear plant operator in the US Navy after which he worked as an operator and instructor at a commercial nuclear plant. He has a keen interest in science and enjoy learning about the creation and how it works. He spends a good deal of time outdoors.Jeff is a family man, married to one woman for over 40 years. Together they have 7 children and a growing number of grandchildren. Since the early 1990's Jeff's primary occupation has been serving as the pastor of small rural churches. He has served at Canaan Community Church (canaanbiblechurch.com) since 1993 and plans to continue to serve there as long as he is able. During this time Jeff has supported his family by working a "second job" including writing articles for timber industry magazines. Since 2006 Jeff has operated a one man sawmill business providing custom lumber and wood products for a wide variety of customers (creationwoods.com).The majority of Jeff's books are an extension of his service as a pastor whose purpose in life is to glorify God and to help people have a right relationship with God. His writing is most often focused on helping people understand and put into practice the teachings of the Bible.His book on dating and marriage arose from his desire to help young people, especially his own children, to use care in choosing a spouse to avoid many of the troubles that married people have.The volume on raising children was penned at the urging of his own children as they entered adulthood and began to anticipate having children of their own.The book on Bible interpretation and preaching arose from teaching men how to preach. Jeff has traveled five times to Russian and once to Africa to train pastors how to understand and teach the Bible. Jeff has also taught this material to men in his local ministry.The book on making disciples was compiled to help people understand the basics of the Christian faith.Over the years Jeff has worked with addicts of various kinds. Recently he publish a series of books on addiction including a comprehensive workbook on overcoming addiction.
