Mark Beckner is best known for his time with the Boulder Police Department from 1978 to 2014. He rose through the ranks to become Boulder’s Police Chief in 1998 and remained in that position until his retirement in 2014. Chief Beckner is recognized for his leadership in turning around a department in turmoil and taking command of the JonBenet Ramsey murder investigation in late 1997. He now enjoys retirement and has turned his attention toward writing fictional crime dramas. He uses his unique experience and insights to add realism to his suspense-filled stories. Feedback and reviews from his first five books, Behind the Lies, Death From Desire, Naked Evidence, Silent Waters, and Cactus View Book Club, have been positive. His fourth book, Silent Waters, takes place in the town where he worked, Boulder, Colorado.
