For years I wanted my life to change. As a wife and a stay-at-home mom with four kids, I was busy, I was exhausted, and I was so far from being the person I wanted to be.

That can be a difficult truth to wrestle with. Because although I struggled intensely with loss of identity, feeling stuck and depressed, I also loved being a wife and mom.

I loved my family. After years of feeling powerless in changing my own life, I finally got desperate enough to cry out to God.

I knew I was created for a purpose, a purpose that was bigger than me, a purpose that encompassed my gifts and talents, and a purpose that centered around Jesus and His Kingdom. The problem was, I had no idea how to get from where I was, to the woman I wanted to be; a woman living out her purpose, and not just living her life, but truly loving her life.

That desire, coupled with God’s grace and faithfulness, led me on a journey of stripping my life down, rebuilding it, and ultimately creating a life I love. It was not an easy journey, as I had to learn things like breaking bad habits and establishing healthier ones, overcoming doubt and uncertainty, and ultimately, embracing the woman I was created to be.

It was a hard journey, but it was a journey worth taking. Today, I know who I am, and I love who I am.
