I mean yeah, so what, my great, great - great grandfather, Mathew Hopkins was "The Witch Finder General", who hunted down nearly 200 witches. Who cares that he built the top ranked school in the United States for hunters known as The Black Sun Academy.

It doesn't matter that I'm top rank of my fellow hunter cadets or even that I'm female. All that matters is that in a few weeks I turn 18 and in a few months' time I'll graduate and be able to put my talents to good use by eradicating the evil that plagues this world, witches!That's all that should matter be then HE walks in to shadow our current combat instructor so he can take over the following year to teach.

My assignment is to infiltrate The Black Sun Academy. Posing as a new combat instructor I will locate The One, our savior - the one who will put an end to witches being hunted.

Narrowing the prospective students down to a small few, I find myself drawn to one in particular, Alina Hopkins. Now however, I have to figure out why there's such a strong pull towards her.

I begin to question an old myth amongst the witches about soul mates. .
