"Hi. My name's Helen. I'm a teacher and author. I've always loved to write, but I believed that becoming an author was unrealistic and not for the likes of someone like me. The sensible thing to do was to choose a profession. So I became an EFL (English as a foreign language) teacher. I continued to write, but I hid it away and didn't really tell anyone about it. I have done a lot of self-reflection and healing in the last few years and as I started to discover more about myself, my pull to write and share my work grew. In Sep 2022 I self-published my first novel."Originally from the UK, Helen Nomura has been teaching English to students of all ages in Japan for 21 years, including 10 years teaching medical English to veterinary students at Yamaguchi University. She has a BA in modern European languages and an MA in education: TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Applied Linguistics. In addition to teaching, Helen is a novelist and blogger. She loves to write about the human experience, especially the capacity for healing from trauma.
