Only a handful of months have passed since the Orb’s rescue, the culprits imprisoned, and Red and Wolfe’s lives thrown into the spotlight. Red is installing the protected display of the Orb in the capitol building.

Wolfe has been promoted to chief and charged with a task force of his own. The bond between Red and Wolfe had only deepened since that night in Misfits and they find themselves slipping comfortably back into the same camaraderie that they felt all those years before.

But when a friend falls unconscious in the middle of a meeting, Red and Wolfe are pulled from their day to day and tasked with finding out what has happened to her. Without much to go on, Red and Wolfe are forced to face their fear of the dark and dive into the depths of history.

Their search for answers leads them down a rabbit hole of forbidden ingredients, ancient potions, and a heart-pounding visit to the most secure location in all of Legion. Are they dealing with vengeful fairies, a coven of rogue casters, or something far more sinister? As Red and Wolfe delve deeper, they uncover a plot that threatens to upend the fragile balance in Legion that they worked so hard to restore.
