Writer since 2018, author since 1972. Author in the sense that my first publication was a scientific paper peer reviewed and published in the journal, Herpetilogica. For decades I wrote prescribed documents. Scientific based reports, engineering geology related permit applications and such. Rote and boring once the format is ingrained. Now free to write at will. Novels, non-fiction, cook books, memoirs, biographies are all up for grabs.To date, my life has been somewhat adventurous, taxing at times, never too easy. As a teen, I worked on projects for my professor father, usually biological assessments for the early stages of the National Environmental Protection Act. To become known as the dreaded NEPA. Following secondary school, I entered US military service and became a paratrooper in the US Army Airborne Rangers, later transferred to be a Mountain Warfare Instructor. Collage years saw me married to an unloving woman who gave birth to an only child and daughter. A masters degree was obtained following a geologic mapping expedition in NW Alaska. Decades were then spent in the consulting world. Contaminated soil and groundwater assessments through remediation, drinking water supply development, mine design and permitting. Finally retirement, but too early. Boredom became alcohol consumption. Then a short term job on a lithium solution mine came along.
