The aim of this study was to assess the association between self-perceived oral health, considering the domains of oral symptoms, functional limitation, emotional well-being and social well-being, and the history of caries in students aged 8 to 14 in the municipality of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas - Brazil. The sample consisted of 509 students enrolled in the six municipal and state public schools in the Brazilian municipality with the highest proportion of self-declared indigenous people, São Gabriel da Cachoeira (SGC), Amazonas State, Brazil.
