Maria Karra is a former aerospace engineer and has over 25 years of experience as a technical translator and interpreter. As a typical Gemini, she has always been torn between two passions: languages and engineering. She holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics with a focus on spacecraft design, a master’s in electrical engineering, a master’s in applied linguistics with a focus on second-language acquisition, a master’s in translation and a diploma in medical interpreting. She has a passion for languages (she speaks nine, seven of which fluently) and has written several language textbooks which combine her language expertise with her mathematical thinking, resulting in a very effective structure and language-learning methodology.
