In 1996, I graduated from Edge Hill University with a BA (QTS) Hons degree in English Language and English Literature. My specialism is English for 3-8 year olds, although my favourite subject to teach turned out to be Maths!I was a primary school teacher for almost twenty years before several chronic illnesses got the better of me and I had to "retire" from the physical classroom, much earlier than I had anticipated.For a number of years after exiting the classroom, I taught English online to 3-18 year olds in China - this was so much fun!Growing up, my favourite things at primary school were Maths and writing stories. Sadly, there was very little opportunity to create stories at high school, but I remained an avid reader. My secret goal in life was always to "write that book!" - it's been on my to do list for many years, but a lack of confidence to put myself out into the big wide world and face feedback on my work, has led to many years of procrastination along with half written stories stuffed away in note books, saved on computers and numerous plots swirling in my mind.Having just turned 50, I felt it was time to grit my teeth and just do it... Please be kind...With my background in education and my love of animals, I decided my first offerings would be animal short stories and poems for children. Monkeys and pandas are two of my favourite animals - watching them exploring, having little mishaps and getting up to mischief - I just adore their human child-like qualities.
