My name is Sharika Pruitt and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Alabama and Georgia. I reside in a small town in Alabama and I was raised in Birmingham, AL. I attended Jacksonville State University where I received my Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Master of Science Degree in Community Agency Counseling and an Ed.s degree in Community Mental Health. I specialize in working with children who suffer from ADHD and have a special place in my heart for Neurodivergent children. I also specialize in working with women and specifically, mothers who battle with postpartum depression. I have over a decade of experience in providing clinical mental health services for children, adolescents and adults. I currently own 3 group private practices and plan to expand my practices over 3 other states in the next 5 years. I provide clinical supervision to provisionally licensed counselors and I am the Executive Clinical Director over all of my group practices. I have had the honor of working with thousands of clients and their families within my group practices and I have been able to extend community mental health services to under-served populations to include BIPOC populations, LGBTQ+ populations, disabled populations and the elderly populations to name a few. I have a daughter whom is an only child and a French Bulldog named Romeo that I absolutely adore. Both of my sweet babies have amazing personalities and if we are not home experimenting with new recipes, we are hiking, visiting museums or visitng the local parks. My daughter and I absolutely love the adventure of travel and we travel at least twice a year. So far we have been to Hawaii, Colombia, New York and all over the Southern US. My daughter is also an author and will release her chapter books soon. My daughter is neurodivergent and was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 6. While this was a very difficult diagnosis to navigate, I felt extremely prepared to advocate for my daughter every step of the way. I became an expert in assessing and evaluating children with ADHD and worked to educate my daughter about all of the disruptions and strengths that may present with her ADHD diagnosis. This was the start of a beautiful connection with my daughter. These days, my daughter manages her ADHD well and has an amazing neurodivergent spicy attitude to go along with it. I plan to write more books dedicated to mental illness and hope that you all find my books helpful in assisting you with obtaining more knowledge and education about various mental health topics.
