Based on the fact that 2023 was the warmest year ever recorded in the history of the planet (NASA), Russia is therefore one of the countries that contributes most to climate change with its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. According to 2021 data, Russia emitted 1,942,535 megatonnes of CO2, which represents 10% of global emissions and places it fourth in the ranking of the most polluting countries.
