This is a short editorial on the nature of an evolving Europe & its place or impact in the world, from its relatively defining past in World Conflict II, to its manifestation as the European Union of harmony & respect for human rights. It will deal with questions about the weakness of its periphery borders in the ambition of expansion that has led to near & distant related conflicts, namely in Ukraine & Palestine.

These regional conflicts are far ranging & destabilize Europe, effectively further weakening European peripheries, internal unity & its legacies of well rounded democratic growth of the years since the second Great Conflict. While there are European Mechanisms meant to deal with such eventualities of centrifuge style pressure, namely the Organization for Security & Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), these have been undermined by major state actors, some close to home, such as Russia, others further away such as China.

Also not to be underestimated is the combined economic strength of Arab states forming the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) & the covert influence of narcotics producing regions. .
